Totman’s new works have gone through a TRANSFORMATION-this is particularly due to a clearer understanding of the media and of abstraction. In saying this, this is after more than 25 years of studying, teaching and gallery representation.

The recent works have grown /matured into a concise image with limited color and techniques.

This “Rebirth” or understanding of the whole of what is a print, brought about by its magic or mysteries, continues to be revealed as the very thing that enticed the artist so many years ago.

Totman, currently a fulltime Artist and part-time teacher in Sydney Australia, was born and raised in Northern California. Totman earned a MFA from Wichita State University and a BA from the University of San Diego, and has held numerous university positions  in Alaska, California, Kansas and Australia. Totman consistently travels working as a visiting artist in Venice, Paris, Beijing and all corners of the globe. This will mark the 40th solo show over a twenty-five year career as an artist and twenty-two years of involvement with Print Arts NW.
